I have just recently built a cage for my 2ft long Black Throat Monitor that is 8ft long, 4ft wide and 4ft tall. I found my first layout of the cage is not very practical. For example, I put a 2ft x 3ft x 8 inch deep soaking tuba with a water filter system in it. Well let’s just say it couldn't handle what the lizard could dish out. The cage is in the basement so I had to use a shopvac to suck the used water and the drops out. Then carry the waste upstairs and outside to get rid of it. The real kick in the pants is I’ve since found out that an Ionides Monitor don’t require something of that size. All they real need is a fresh bowl of water that they can drink out of, and to be soak in a bathroom tuba for a hour or two weekly. So that was self induced with ignorance. So I’m hoping that someone out there can help me by pointing me in the right direction. Also I have question about how much humidity is needed in the cage.

Sincerely: Jay

P.S. If you have pictures of your cage setup that seem to work really good for you please send them to me. I need all the help I can get.
