Daytona Hotel update ------ more

southernboids May 03, 2005 02:01 PM

Ok.. so I understand the term is WALKED... not screwed Hilton called me and has moved my room from their place to the Holiday Inn down the road. Didnt even ask.. just booked me down the road on my same CC and all. I didnt like that.. but I guess it is better then just saying the room is no longer available and NOT getting me an alternate room.

However I asked and a few people told me Holiday Inn is not that nice, so I am changing again.

If you are interested here are some numbers and addresses.

Remember the Adams Mark or Hilton is 100 North Atlantic Drive

Daytona Regency 400 North Atlantic - 1-877-258-2786 or 1-877-club-sun in case I got the numbers mixed up.

Ocean Walk 300 N. Atlantic 386-323-4800

Plaza Resort 600 N. Atlantic

This is for your info only - I changed our reservations to the Daytona Regency and Spa hotel.. closer and I hope nicer than the Holiday Inn.

...After the hurricanes there were many hotels seriously damaged along Daytona Beach. Some of them have been torn down and the sites sold to developers. Many others are still undergoing repairs. The total number of available rooms along the beach is way down from a year ago. You may not be able to find a place as close to the Ocean Center as in the past. Get your reservations in soon. If you cannot find a room on the beach side there are plenty of places to stay across the river in Daytona. It is a quick drive from the speedway out to the beach. The restaurants are also generally better in Daytona than out at the beach.

and I have NEVER heard of any hotel giving out CC info (are you sure they did that?!!!) Maybe they made the reservation and paid for it on their account.

I was just saying that Hilton bumped me and put me down the road, farther then I wanted. There were hotels closer, why they didnt go there first I am not sure.

As for my CC info, I know they - Hilton - called me at home and left a message, when I called they told me they had credited my account for my room and the other hotel charge would be enstated and she gave me a confirmation number. Now maybe when I call they will need my CC info to secure the room, I am not sure. I have decided to room closer anyway, so after confirmation on that room I will cancel the Holiday Inn. So I am not positive they transfered my CC info or not, just not happy about the move is all.

I just want to stay at the Hilton......

I stayed there last year & will be there again this year. The 2 bedroom units are pretty sweet. Probably sold out by now though.
