sorry I missed a previous post of yours...mine used to get startled when we came home...he'd run and hide behind his rock...so as soon as I would start opening the door, I'd start talking to him...before long he was over the fear...so maybe try talking to yours as you approach...

thanks for tip! He has gotten much better about it and as far as talking to him...well, I live alone with all my critters (and work at home) so I am always talking to one of them - or myself! lol!

Actually, it has been funny in that one of my cats keeps coming around when I am talking with Darwin and I realized that I was using the same tone and "terms of endearment" for him as I do with her. It made me stop and think about how differently I talk to them all, but for some reason Kyndra and Darwin seem to get the same "sweetie" tone. Poor baby, she is very confused when she comes for some lovin' just to find I am holding this little scaly thing! ;-/

Darwin has been spending some time with me while I work and will even sit on my hand as I type or move my mouse! Then he gets dizzy and goes off to read a book!

glad to hear he's settling in...I talk to all my pets as well...I even sing to jeremiah (the bullfrog)...I just got a baby beardie yesterday...saw it at the pet store buying crix and fell in love...now I get to start worrying even more
