I personally wouldnt be concerned.. Ive realized that after two months of seeing the same thing in both of my WTFs, its just the way they can be. I have to admit that my male LOVES the bottom as opposed to the rest of the aage, same spot everyday. The female alternates, sometimes shes in the bromeliad, but on the most part, she is down on the bottom with her tank mate, the male. ive witnessed them both eating, moving about, and soaking so I have no worries. I'm actually more excited because my female is no longer having health issues and is back to normal. She was sick for am onth, ieither had red leg or water edema, it was my fault for not having clean water, but I've learened and shes back to healthy so its all good and I change the water every other day unless they recently soaked in it or its been soiled.. Point is, your guy is fine, dont worry...

He probably just feels more secure near the ground. How tall is his enclosure? He may not be able to get high enough to feel safe. My white's hides out on the glass behind those fake suction cupped plastic plants that I ve hung up. I agree with the previous reponse, though, no worries.

they are in a 29 gallon tall tank.plenty of fake plants.do you think if i put a background on it they may feel more sacure?

I keep mine in a 29g. Yes, I think it could make him feel more secure, but if you put cork down, you would probably want to silicone the cork to the back. It would look nice, but you would have to remove the frog for a day or two so it could cure. I think it would suffice to place the tank with its back against a wall with the hanging plants. This way, the frog doesnt feel vulnerable from all angles and can actually hide behind the plants and feel safe. I'm probably thinking too much into it, though. Maybe he just prefers the ground! haha

The wanna-be dart frogger in me over simplified it when you said background. I assume what you actually were referring to was one of those aquarium paper background. They would serve the purpose, too. Good Luck
