Why is it that some eggs come out smooth and very clean looking and other eggs come out dirty looking with windows in them? They all seem to hatch and the snakes seems to turn out well but they sure do look different.

If I read you right you are not refering to the eggs in the above pic but rather eggs from different clutches that vary in appearence. Some have windows, some have dimples and some are not calcified completely. I am no expert but I think diet plays a big role and general health of the mother. Then again it may just be the genetic disposition of the mother. The best answer though is that I really don't know! I'm sure somebody does though.

My thoughts also, but how do you correct an aparent calcium deficiency in a critter who eats bones fer lunch?
