New Owner Q (WTF)

caraae May 03, 2005 07:03 PM

I was just given 2 WTFs as a gift. I've been trying to do some quick research, but can't find anything that says what percent humidity they should be maintained at. Also, does anyone use a humidifier? If so, what kind? I'm looking for something relatively cheap and automatic.
THANKS!

Thanks! I was worried that the humidity was supposed to be much higher than that. That shouldn't be a problem. Any idea why they change color? Are they only happy when they're green?

It's been theorized that WTFs turn green with higher temps/lower humidity and brown with lower temps/higher humidity. This is just a theory that I've seen a few times.

Also, the very few times that my WTFs have turned brownish is when they're hiding somewhere on the ground. Most of the time they're on the glass or on branches or in trees and green. I believe this would be to try to blend in with their surroundings.

Bottom line, brown frogs are healthy frogs too, don't need to be worried about that.
