My friend is graduating and moving to San Diego and I inherited Loafers so to say, cool name huh? Want to take good care of him and jsut want to make sure I'm doing whatever I can. Wow, you should probaly browse this forums previous posts. There is a ton of information here about the husbandry of these snakes.
Humidity is probably one of the most imortant things you should pay attention to. It should be kept at 70-80% (it helps if the top of the tank is covered to hold in moisture). They need a place to hide be it a box with a hole, a log, a towel, heavy substrate, etc. They need a large bowl of water big enough to soak in. They love water. I place mine in the warm end over the under tank heater. The warm end should be around 75.
FOOD: You should probably be feeding him, once a week, a rodent as big around as his largest girth. Prefereably a rat as they are more hardy.
