Squam twitching

Oxyrhopus May 03, 2005 09:28 PM

I had some doubt from time to time that this gal was gravid or not, however she went off feed for the last two months and her belly continues to develop this bulge. Now tonight I was taking this PIC to send to a friend and the bulge started to twitch as if the babies were moving inside her. I believe I have seen this in other gravid snakes before, and it perhaps means she is ready to drop. She has assumed this wide laying position vice a tight coil also which indicates she is close. I hope because I cannot take waiting anymore.

I would definitely agree that her unusual pose is a sign of your having babies soon. That is just not normal for a female squamigera to lie that way. Give us some counts when she drops! Wishing the best.
