I recieved my new ackie this afternoon. Looks to be in great shape. Very stout, lots of energy and loving the stack already. It seems to enjoy sandwiching itself between the tiny space betewen the glass and the stack more than anything, or feels most secure there. I have the cage covered in paper towels with the intent on alleviating some of the stress of acclimation. I tried to feed him some 1/4 inch crickets about 3 hours after I released him into the cage. He chased them a little, but did not seem to be eating in the hour before I took off for work. I know it sometimes takes time to adjust and was wondering if anyone had some useful tips or tricks for feeding hatchlings (a little over 1 month old). His head is larger than the 1?4 inchers, but I was curious as to whether I should be using pinheads instead. And yes, btw, I did email the breeder and ask him waht he was using. Just trying to thoroughly explore any other options.
Thanks for any help.

First of all, none of this may apply. or it may.

You do not know what age your monitor is. If you believe everyone who is selling you something, I have an old car for you, it does run perfect. Or some swampland in Fla, whoops, that is sold, drained and is now a housing tract.

Baby ackies like BIG crickets, not ity bity ones. Pin heads! go with half grown or larger. Just not giant ones.

A normal healthy CB ackie will eat within minutes of shipping, or not, it was abused. How long it takes to feed is a gage as to what happened during shipping. But only with known husbandry. In your case, your husbandry is unknown, so how do you expect anything? This I do not know. Consider, stuffing them in boxes is abuse. I know, I do it all the time and I hate it.

About your cage, it does no good to discribe it, if I/we could see it, it could be important. Consider, you only discribe what YOU "think" is right or important, not what it really is. This is a huge problem here on forums. Good luck FR
