dones anyone have any of those snake eating people pictures? I thought I saw one in the python forums but I can't seem to find them. I know most of them have proven to be fake, but someone I know just wanted to check them out. Thanks

why bother with checking them out? You could just make your own.

Seriously, Pictures like that don't do the hobby any good and only solidify folks impressions that snakes are "bad".

and break it down to people why they are fake. I had someone going for awhile last night but he got hip to my tricks before I could even give them the "here's what's wrong with the picture spiel", as I always do. I've seen a few here on kingsknake (of course I don't recall replies jumping questioning their motives or the damage they were doing to the hobby). I had a bunch and they were inadvertently deleted. Make my own? Now THAT would make me guilty of damaging the image of the animals we cherish, would it not? It doesn't seem like a suggestion that someone so concerned about the sanctity of their hobby should make. I can say with confidence that there are more people on this board that do more damage to their own hobby by indiscriminately selling snakes to anyone who has the cash. I have spent 15 years around this business and have yet to see anyone do much more than toss them an overly basic care sheet, much less ask for actual proof that someone has the proper facilities secured to provide for a large python (or any snake for that matter)for the span of it's life. Then they let it loose or it escapes. THAT is what screws up the hobby. I've made this argument before and had many breeders sheepishly agree. I know plenty of people who breed other animal who take weeks to check out perspective owners because they don't want them to go to some spring loaded dolt who can't find their own backside with both hands and a map. If you are a breeder who actually does do this, hats off to you (it's a great place to store what you are probably full of). I know this may sound inflammatory but I don't mean it to be, I have a quirky way of expressing myself. I won't apologize about length, it needs to be said. There a far worse threats to the hobby than ridiculous pictures. Anti-reptile legislation don't get passed because of pictures, they get passed because of irresponsible people and practices. Those are the reasons why the big boys are no longer welcome in NY and probably other places in the near future. Doug, I'm glad you called me out, and if it makes you feel better, when I do a search there is only a few websites and they are all the same set of pictures.

go to this link on my site, it's not up to date tho, I have one or two other pics but I can't find them right now...
I think showing these pics to people is a great conversation starter to explain why these are fake and to try to educate the uninformed.
hope that helps a bit...
