New female ornate

el_toro May 04, 2005 11:24 AM

Today my new female ornate from Audrey Vanderlinden arrived. She came out of the box hopping mad. She S-dances at me if I even look at her. The cute part is, she also S-dances while I hand feed her bok choy and dandelion greens. Food is definitely the way to this lady's heart! Her mama is named Piglet, so it's apparently a family trait.

So this is Shazzbot.

Torey,
She is absolutely beautiful, and a gal with an attitude. How comical. I have only had one uro give me the ole "S" dance routine. It's kind of shocking at first because most of them are just so sweet. Love the name too. Best of luck with her.

Great pics! After comparing their markings they do look quite different from each other. Very interesting! How is Scuttlebutt adjusting to his new friend ? (assuming they are in the same tank). Sooo... does she have a name yet?

Her name's Shazzbot. Her markings look more like Luca's than like Scuttlebutt's. Broader strokes, I think - with watercolors, while Scuttlebutt's were done with Crayola markers. They're both getting used to each other. Yep, I just dumped them in the same tank and hoped for the best. He's very intimidated by her, but as she's calming down, she isn't as scary to him it seems. I knew she was going to be somewhat larger than him, but it's more of a difference than I was expecting. I hope it all works out! If not, there's another tank, but I prefer them together.

Scuttlebutt has a more broken up pattern:

And hers is smoother:

Beautiful! How old is she?

>>Beautiful! How old is she?

She was hatched the beginning of September last year. Has probably eaten an elephant's weight in greens since then!
