Giant Day Gecko Breeding

MillionPoundBomb May 04, 2005 03:55 PM

Alright, I picked up a monstrous male for my little female and have the pair in that 4' by 4' by 2'(pictured a few posts down). I don't really care if they breed or not honestly, but if they do, what are the signs of courting geckos/gravid females?
Should I throw in a nest box?

Also, will an automatic mister(like the habba mist, sprays once every hour) going to make it too humid?

Thanks.

You'll know that they are courting when you start hearing barking. You'll also see them chasing each other and wagging their tails. These geckos are the most vocal from what I've seen. They don't need a nest box but rather some bamboo that are cut down the center. Well, they don't 'need' it but that's one common place they like to lay them in.

I don't think it could ever be too humid unless the mister sprays out so much water that it saturates the subrstrate which is common with Habba Misters. To save yourself money and a headache build one by following this websites guide;
