Leopard Tortoise care

jeanette74 May 04, 2005 04:37 PM

I have recently added a baby leopard tortoise to my family-I got him last about 3 1/2 weeks ago-then he was said to be about 3 months-I notice he stays in his little habba hut all day-comes out to eat once a day-sometimes twice-I have a miniuv aqua light and a basking light along with a small under tank heater. I recently changed the substrate to cypress mulch-. I have done some research and am overwhelmed by all the contradiction I read. Im trying to get advice from experienced owners about substrate use and diet. Since he is so small I want to be giving him the proper nutrition-I have been giving him-mustard greens ,romaine, dandelion and I also bought some alfalfa and timothy hay which I throw in any advice is appreciated!!

Hi,

I have 2 Leopard Tortoises and love them so much. I am in the African Tortoise group on Yahoo and they are really great. Here is a link that is a huge help.

Go to hatchling care and it will tell you exactly the best setup.
