What can a Granite do??

tomsey May 04, 2005 06:55 PM

Hi.
I was wondering what a Granite can do in breeding.........genetics stuff. I've heard something about using a Granite with another type to make an Ebony??????
I have a few babies with the Granite speckling pattern, but can a normal Ball python have the Granite look/pattern and NOT be genetic??

Thanks for your help.

I had heard that a true granite is not only a speckled baby. That certain other things had to be present for the animal to be a genetic granite. A spot or irregular black mark on the neck, just behind the head. Yellow or orange sides. A light colored head. Light colored or golden eyes. A white belly.
Is this true and do all those things have to be present on a true genetic granite?
Is this male BP a true granite in your opinion?
