lucies question

chas3323 May 04, 2005 11:22 PM

New to posting on this forum. I have been a long time (since about 2000) lurker. I wanted to know what are all the ways that have produced lucies? Both blue eyed and black eyed. Also If a lucy is produced by say mojave X mojave, can that lucy out crossed to a normal produce say a lesser or platum. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I heard that maby the lesser and the mojavie were quite possibly the same kind of morph. I am just learning all the genetics about ball pythons and loving every minute of it so dont harp on me too much. Just wanted a little disscussion. Thank you, Chas

Has a mojave x mojave produced a lucy? I know MKR produced lucies by lesser x mojave. Just wondering.

Thanks,
Tom

Yes MKR did produce a blue eyed from mojave x mojave. Thanks Scott Glover

This is what can produce blue eyed lucys, mojave x mojave = blue eyed lucys, mojaves and normals, platinum x mojave = blue eyed lucys, lesser platinums, mojaves and normals, lesser platinum x mojave = blue eyed lucys, lesser platinums, mojaves and normals, platinum x phantom = blue eyed lucys, lesser platinums, phantoms and normals, lesser platinum x phantom = blue eyed lucys, lesser platinums, phantoms and normals. There is only one breeder that has black eyed lucys, black eyed lucys are produced from fire ball x fire ball (het. black eyed lucy). When a blue eyed lucy (from mojave x mojave) is bred to a normal it will produce all mojaves. And when a blue eyed lucy (from platinum x mojave or lesser platinum x mojave)is bred to a normal it can produce lesser platinums and mojaves. I don't think lesser and mojave are the same morph, it might be the butter and platinum look a like but I don't think those are the same morphs. RDR still has not figure out the platinum puzzle yet he might this year. Hope This Helps Scott Glover

Vin Russo also has a line that produces blue eyed Lucies.

that pretty much answered my questions, and your right I ment the butter ball instead of the mojave.
