Sorry guys I know this isn't the frog forum but I just couldn't resist. We went to the Cleveland Zoo today and I took some pics. We went to check out their chams and they weren't there.

PHEve/ Eve
I was working at the Tampa Reptile show last month, clearing out th elast of the vendors Sunday night, when I notice this little red thing. He didn't belong to any of the vendors there, so I kept him. Imagine my surprize when I fin dout these little suckers are some of the most expensive dart frogs - $100 a pop.
I set up a nice tank for him, and I'll get him a mate. Once I find out what it is actually... They're a pain to sex supposedly.
like the one in the top right hand side of the photo.
I named him Frodo
These are on my list to get someday, once I can afford them. All the ones I want are the really expensive ones! They are just the coolest little froggies!
Thanks for posting!

Because of the price and they are good for beginners.
I am lucky because I traded for him with the lady that shared a booth with me at the show and she gets them for a wholesale price to begin with. I will be trading beardies or leopard geckos for more darts this year.
I also like D. Azureas (spelling?)
Anson,
Once you get started with the darts it is hard to stop. I got a pair of D. azureus as a gift from my brother. Since then I have acquired D. leucomelas (my favorites so far), Phyllobates vittatus, D. tinctorius "Suriname Cobalt", D. auratus Panamanian Green and Bronze. They are amazing to watch. When the males start to call it is really cool. The other great part of having the frogs is designing the vivariums - waterfalls, rivers, choosing the appropriate plant fauna, etc. I almost like them as much as my chams
n/P. It cost twice here :^(, so it might just a dream for me to get one.
They have quite the variety of species in a single enclosure. The problem with such enclosures is many of the species can hybridize and if the tads are allowed to morph, then it is hard to tell which are the hybrids - in certain cross-breedings (such as azureus and tinctorius, shown in the pic). But they make very nice displays for zoos, but if you decide to create your own vivarium, it is best to keep the species separate.
I was up there last summer and looked at the rainforest building for some too, but never saw any. I swore they had posted in a flier they had Jacksons or something. hmm, who knows!

No I didn't see any. I specifically went to see the chams they said they had, and we didn't find any. I asked around and no one was able to answer my quesitons. But the rainforest as a whole was awsome, but would of been alot better if there were chams.
