alligators illegal?

zakbag_darlde666 May 05, 2005 02:19 AM

Ive suddenly become fond of the idea of owning one of these big, mean, ugly alligator snapping turtles. I think an A.S. Turtle would be the ultimate semi-dangerous pet. The only problem is that on the Georgia (the state in which I preside) DRN website it says that it is illegal to possess an alligator snapping turtle. Does that apply to captive bred turtles as well? If it does is there any way to get past that law through paper work or by other means? Thanks!

I'm not sure about the legality of it, you may want to go to your local police station or library and make sure the laws haven't changed since they went off the endangered species list. I have an alligator snapper and he is big and mean but I love him to death. Luckily I live in NJ and since they aren't native to this area, there are no laws on them. Good luck though!
