Has Anyone Ever........................

Witnessed what looked to be an attempt at a power puke, with any of their balls? My female just convulsed from nose to tail tip and her mouth opened wide at the same time. Just a short one second ordeal, but it was a bit unnerving. Anybody got a clue?

Wow, I've never heard of that. I've seen some pretty weird stuff but nothing like that!

It has me a little concerned, but so far she's only done it the one time. She does keep opening and closing her mouth as if trying to dislodge something, but she's on news paper substrate. I'll keep an eye on her today and hope it passes.

I had a female that used to do something similar when she was a few months old. She would just convulse, like you stated but never had the open mouth puke thingy going.

I did take her to my vet and had all the tests done but everything came up clean. She doesn't do it anymore though, which I'm thankful for, and now seems a 100% fine(touch wood).

Quig, I had a retic once that did the same thing. Turns out it was an R.I. and with a little more heat and some anti-biotics it went away. The vet explained that the snake was trying to expell excess mucus. Harkin' a lugie must be tough on em'.lol

Hopefully it's something minor.

LOL, that's actually what she looked like she was doin'. Haven't seen any sign of an RI, but I'll keep an eye out for that too.

I have one girl who used to do that quite regularly, although she seemed perfectly fine in every other way. I wormed her etc. But it was noisy and scary to watch. Nothing came up either respiratory or digestive. No ill effects in my case.
