I had a question. Could a chuck live with tortoises or would that cause a problem?
I have 2 seperate enclosures, but thought it would be neat to see different species together.
Thanks,
Casey

coexist ok but I definately would not mix the chucks with the African tortoises you have. If they have some disease unknown to the other you could have big problems. It is best never to mix animals from different areas of the world. I would not do it! Tom
Thanks. I won't be doing that. The tortoise people said no also. I will be posting pics once I get the new set up done. I have my chuck "Dakota" in a smaller area for now. He is just a baby so the 40 gallon tank seems fine for a temporary home.

Chucks, especially babies have a tendency to tail stand or try to climb the walls. They will slide down and their back will bend backwards with their belly being pushed into the corner where the side and bottom meet. If they do this too much their back will become permanently bent inverted in that postion. Not all chucks do it but some do. Just watch for it. It seems it can be corrected with a ton of cage furniture. Tom
I will keep that in mind. I have a lot of cage furniture in there now. The enclosure he is going into isn't a glass cage. Thanks for the info.
