My baby res has had a prolapse. Besides keeping the area moist is there anything else i should do? How long before it should go back in? When is it safe to feed?

It may not go back in on it's own. If it doesn't retract today I would get the animal to a vet.
I once read, try putting the turtle in warm shallow water, mixed with sugar (let the sugar disolve). The sugar is supposed to make the organ "shrink", and easier to retract. Or, you could apply some kind of lubricant (wich is save for the RES, no chemicals please) and push it in gently. If those things doesnt work, bring it to a qualified vet ASAP!
