I’ve read 75 to 85 is a good temperature range to maintain,
therefore I keep mine in that range with occasional peeks upward
of 90 and downward drops to 70 to 72 degrees ,also I’ve been told
they enjoy the same temp as us and lights are not to be used!
for borrowing animals such as kings -under the tank heaters or
heat tape is good.
when I notice the temp dropping I throw a towel over the top
to contain the heat and often stick my(clean) fingers in the water bowl
and sprinkle a tiny bit of water around the cage for humidity.

Kingsnakes do not like temps above 85 degrees. You need to use a lower wattage bulb or else add a light dimmer to the setup. If the room is warm ~80ish, you really don't need any other heat.

When you say the tank is 92 deg, is that on the end where the lamp is or the cooler end? If the tank is large, then 92 at one end and say 80ish on the other is OK for a few hours but not all day. You would be surprised how even kingsnakes from hot climates really shy away from temps in the high 80s.
