New To Basilisks

Herpeto-punk May 05, 2005 03:49 PM

I have alot of experience with many different types of lizards, snakes. and turtles, however I have none with Basilisks. I plan to research as much as possible before buying, but was hoping you could give me the bare basics. For instance how large do they grow, and what size enclusure is needed? Do they need more of a vivarium setup or is a simple set up ok too? What are their favorite foods and what foods should be avoided? Also how often should they be fed? I assume that full spectrum lighting is a must, but what is their ideal temperature to be kept at? Do they do well housed as pairs or is it best to house them singly? Anything else you can tell me, and referals to breeders would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!-- Jennifer
