As always, enjoy your field work. Was curious if you've ever had the chance to do a little hunting for Nigra in Virginia? Though the Eastern King is the main getula here, I believe L. Nigra is listed at the extreme Western part of Va. It would be interesting to see the variations in Virginia populations compared to Ky, and some of the other states that nigra live in.

Thanks Steve. I was aware that there is a small area in southwestern Va that has nigra but I have never seen a specimen from there. There is a free booklet available on the snakes of Va and I have wondered if the specimen shown there originated from there. I hope in time to put together a gallery of locality nigra from various states with the help of some others. - Phil
