leachianus egg laying question

cegeckos May 05, 2005 09:44 PM

my female leachainus recently laid a clutch of eggs, exactly 2 sundays ago. she bred with the male close to a month before. she is now seperated from him because i now own her, she laid eggs before i got her. i wanted to know, will she still lay without breeding with a male again this season?

i know females have the ability to store sperm to produce 2-3 clutches of fertile eggs without a male present. it's hard to say for sure what will happen with the leachi, but many people only introduce a male for a month or so with cresteds for example, and 2-3 clutches later the eggs are still fertile even with the male removed.
