What should be bred with this girl??? opinons please...

AbsoluteApril May 06, 2005 12:57 PM

Thought this might be fun for a friday...
Well, my high pink female looks like she will be ready to be bred for the first time this coming season, so I am looking for some opinions on what would be a good breeding...

Which do you think would have the best outcome for babies or for a future project?

I would love to breed her with a hypo harlequin...
A salmon? (trying for high pink hypos)
An Albino? (for hets and then hopefully high pink albinos)
An anery? (for hets, not sure what or if any effect the high pink would have, possibly high contrast black and white tails?)
A high pink normal? (for high pink babies)
Any other morphs?

thanks for your opinions...

I would skip any breedings at all! Stop that butt ugly Boa right in its' tracks!!! Just send her right to me!... LOL...!!!!!

Seriously, I would shoot for the Harlequin Hypo! Yeah that's the ticket! Then send all the babies to me! I won't even charge you for having me take them all...LOL

That is one nice high pink boa! Andy

well, considering this is a 'normal', I would presume you are not going out to get a top dollar morph to breed her with..

I would try to find a similar male.. a clean, high colored male.. a true pastel could be even better.. the babies they have could be amongst some of the best 'normal' colombians ever seen!

A Harlequin would also make it better...

thanks, Joe

Yeah, I don't have the funds for jungles, abaresques, etc
I've tried to find a nice high pink male off and on but not had much luck. I knew a couple who had the perfect mate for her, he was huge but had the same rich orange and pinks tones and very clean, I offered to buy him but they woudn't part with him, said he was too busy breeding their female suri. (argh! I tried to explain about BCi vs BCc but they just didn't care! so frustrating! that was 2 years ago)
If it works out, I'll try her with the harli this season, and in future years I would like to get a nice high pink male to breed her with and also try for some albino hets in a few years.
thanks for the comments!!

That's my plan for next year. Stripe line albino x EBV Red Group. No matter what you decide, those will be awesome babies.

Since you first got her! since you're thinking in that direction,I'll send you a male Harlequin/hypo on breeding loan if you're interested??? all I'd ask is a sexual pair of the offspring in return,(if,of course it's a successful breeding.)shoot me an email if you're interested, and,we'll work out the details...I think the babies might cause eye damage, which I will not be held responsible for!(figured I'd better throw that in for protection! )

Drives me nuts! i couldnt sell him because he was to unique but i really dont have anything to mate him with..I was thinking coral line albinos to see what the color would bring in but!!!! that 100% het pastel will dent my pocket book...Ill try to take some good pictures of my "Monster" for you...See what everyone else thinks..

Sincerely,
Rose Hipskind
