Completely off topic but....

I posted on the Anole forum but I wanted to post it here too. Louis, my green anole is missing! He got out a little while ago when I was cleaning the tank and I have absolutely no idea where he is. Does anyone here have experience with what (if anything) one could do to try to get them to come out?

(P.S.- I love anoles but I swear I'm never getting another one! Waaaaayyyy too fast).

the habits of anoles, but i would check under and behind things, couches tables etc, perhaps offering some goodies would get him to come around? like a dish out in the middle of the floor perhaps?

Thanks reiko. I've looked pretty much everywhere I can think of. When you have a missing lizard I guess you're forced to shrink down to their size and realize that every place is a hiding spot. It's like an amusement park or something. The thing that worries me the most is Mow...my 30 pound cat! Louis would be a pretty appetizing snack. I thought about putting a dish of crickets and a few mealies out but he really doesn't care about food unless it's right infront of him. I guess I can just hope for the best.

Thanks. I feel really guilty about it. I should've checked the plants better before I took them out.

that happened to me with my anoles twice and 1 time i found one using this trick( i use it when my geckos get out to it works great with them) i put a flashlight on in the middle of the room i thought they were in at night with a BIG battery hooked up to it. I woke up in the middle of the night and sure enough the anole was right by it (but it only worked once) it has worked every time with my geckos however they seem to really be drawn to the light. GOod luck.

My little brother's anole recently got out. It was lost for about a week or 2, and he ended up finding it in his lamp (he's got one of them tall lights that are open at the top) can't think of what the lamp is called right now!! *sorry* but yeah I hope you find it!!

My southenr alligator lizard got out for about a day. Try putting its basking light on the floor. It might return if it's cold. Also, if you have an idea of what room it's in, like the one with the terrarium in it, blick off the room...just in case it hasnt left the room yet. When you are looking for it, look under things, in corners and in dark cool places and maybe in the warmer places. I found mine behind the stereo. And the next day she layed fertile eggs...so it's a good thingf i found her, lol.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Well...I found him! Actually...my cat did. I saw her chasing something, and there he was scurrying across the floor. He's a little stressed but he ate, had a drink and then went to bask so he seems ok. I feel much better now!
