Jpg Posting
You first have to boot your image to a server, steps A) below then link it via your post to that server....in B)
A)
Find the photo you wish to host on your computer. This is assuming you have properly sized and saved it. (if not, do so now) Then go to the home page and login. The @ key is your control point for logging in, uploading files, your profile, etc. Remember, the @ key!
Once logged in, you'll be able to see the menus shown below, click on "Create/order my albums. You have to create atleast one album.
That will launch the Album Manager. In the case shown below, many albums are being used. You only need one, but can have several albums. Click on "New", and title your album.
Now you are ready to upload files. Click on "Upload file". As you can see, you can upload several at one time, which is great if you have a series. Note: The maximum file size is 500KB or 600 X 600 pixels. Using photos in JPEG format is suggested. Uses little space and is just fine for viewing. Using JPEG will give you several files in your free account. Bitmap, TIFF, etc, will quickly use all of your space.
Continue on, and if your files do not exceed the limits allowed, a "Successful Uploads" screen will appear, just click continue to put them into albums.
The next screen gives you the album, file title, and file description options. You can tell a story, share camera info, etc. Use the drop-down menu to place the fille into an album. You can modify albums later, if need be. That is another function found under the @ key. Remember the @ key? It controls everything!
B)
First, make sure you have your picture(s), sized, hosted (like with our hosting service, for example), and ready to go. You cannot upload a picture directly from your computer to the forum, you MUST have your photos hosted. Tip.......using photos in JPEG format is best for viewing, as well as conserving space with your host.
Find the photo you wish to post (again, with a photo host, NOT from your computer), and right click on it. In this case, it is of a red milk snake. This dialog box will appear.
Go to the "Address (URL)", drag over the "http://.....", to highlight ALL of the properties, then right click, and select "copy".
Once you have the properties copied, then go to your message body on the forum, and find the place you wish to put your picture. Click on the Img icon that is shown circled below.
Paste your picture properties on the right side of the
. That is important to note, because if they are not in that order, it won't work.
Your picture should then appear (preview it to make sure it was done right), like this nice looking red milk snake!
You are done! Click preview first, to make sure everything is laid out correctly, then submit when you are complete. It may take a try, or two, but once you get it.......you'll see how easy it is to use this style of message board. For multiple pics, just repeat the steps. Have fun!
In otro forums...
You can do it in one of two ways. One, you can upload a photo directly from your hard drive. To do this, click on the "browse" button, navigate to the file you want to upload and click "send file" One drawback to this is that the size of the file has to be 64k or less.
Two: you can upload your pictures to a web host and then insert them using HTML code. This has the advantage of being able to post many pictures in your post. The drawback is that it is a little more typing. Here is an example.
We'll use the image at http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/barkermi/tiger122aug04.jpg If I want to insert it as a picture in my post, I have to add the appropriate HTML tags before and after the image. The tag that goes before the image URL is at the end. So the entire thing would look like this and this code will result in this.
