keeping first shed?

bps516 May 07, 2005 07:52 AM

ok, help settle a dispute here. Has anyone ever heard of wanting to keep your snake's first shed? Personally I think this is further evidence that she is nuts but please let me know your opinions on it.

LOLOL! Bryan, don't freak too much. Some do like to keep first sheds. To a woman, I guess it's like keepin' the baby's booties and gettin' em bronzed after they grow out of em. Oooops, hope sher doesn't get any ideas from this. I know a guy with a red tail boa that keeps every whole shed he gets. Got a half a room full I was facinated by the sheds for the first couple years after I got mine too. Finally grew out of it though. It's OK. This too, shall pass.

Well too late I already called the guys with the little white coats to take her away. She'll be much happier there.

Thanks for the info, that does make sense. I guess I need to relate the snake back to the children more often.

I use them in my artwork. I never thought it was wierd to keep them. They're neat, and people who aren't into snakes find them pretty interesting. My jungle carpet pythons' skins are really cool with heavy black and clear patterning. My little niece was blown away by the length and color on the last one.

The artwork thing I can actually see. If you can post a picture of some of it, that sounds cool! Using it for an educational experience I can see too. OK, I am seeing more purpose in this... but I still am not bailing my wife out of the loonie bin!

Ok, I've escaped from the loony bin long enough to clear up some of the myths that my dear, sweet husband has been spreading about me!!! I wanted to keep the shed for his sake, thought he would think it neat. Now the art, that IS cool, would love to see it.
