Mite question

PetMania May 07, 2005 12:01 PM

Ok I know this is not the right fourm but most of you raise your own rats. I have a mite problem in my rat room. My question is can you use a dog and cat flea & mite dip on the rats.. Or will in hurt the snakes when you feed the rat to them. If it will what do you use on your rats?

I've had really good luck using No-Pest Strips. I cutt a 1" piece(use a special pair of sissors that you use for nothing else) and put it in a baby food jar with holes drilled in the lid. I place that right inside of the rats enclosure, and no mites at all. I'm really impressed too. I breed my rats out doors.

Just make sure that your rats can't in any way touch that strip. It will kill them.

Oh, and be carefull yourself, it can kill you too.
