Agressive Ball Python

I have a two year old Ball that has suddenly become very agressive in the last week. He's captive bred, eats frozen, and has never been fed in his cage. He's always been handled regularly and has always been a good pet. Lately I have to use gloves to get him out of the cage and he strikes at my face when I handle him. He's also wanting to eat more than usual. He's almost 3 feet long and he's eating two adult mice a week and now he wants more. My vet says that I'm feeding him plenty, but he hasn't grown a single inch in the last year. Could it be that he's needing more food and he's ready to litterally bite my head off to get it? He's always been pretty aggresive with his food, but this is ridiculous. Any ideas?

My male was like that at one point.....fed him a baby rabbit and realized he can take some pretty big meals. So we just started picking larger rats, or if they were small, getting at least three. Mind you he grew out of it.

I would try switching him over to rats.
