helga said she felt left out

jeune18 May 07, 2005 05:39 PM

on may 10th, i will have had helga for a year. she was very skinny and sickly and has come a long way since then. see all that saggy skin on the sides? hopefully you can tell from the photos. the first picture is with my parents' camera so it looks normal. the rest are with the webcam
i tried the many pics in one but when i previewed they came up as X's. is that normal or did i do something wrong?

Congratulations on all your hard work! She looks much, much fatter and happier! I have a very skinny, injured mali who is also starting to look better- maybe Helga could give George a pep talk?

lol, i am not sure you want the pep talk from helga. for being a rescue, she is certainly the pickiest lizard in the world, even when she was half starved (she pretty much is the same length with a huge weight difference). she did not become a good leafy greens eater until january and she will only eat bok choy with the occasional dandelion green. i used to have to tough love feed her. no other veggies or dry food until she nibbled on some greens and i had tried them all, i am not sure why she decided to like bok choy when she did. hugo on the other hand, i have to watch like a hawk when running around on my floor because he will eat ANYTHING and once had to snag a rubber band from him

Helga reminds me of Buddy. Maybe they had the same a-hole person caring for them Ha!Ha! Really she looks 100% better. Keep up the good work. I know how hard it is having a starved animal and trying to get it back to good health. Like I said awhile ago Buddy and Helga would make a great couple- they would have a lot to talk about

The addiction can be dangerous. 1 Uro named Buddy aka Big Boy & 1 Ig named Tiny

'E.T.'...my uro that I got a little over a week ago, is very skinny also. I have been trying to get him on the right track, with lots of choices of food, greens, peas, limas, endive, sweet potatoes, carrots, greenbeans, bird seed. He has eaten a little better the last couple days.
He is 11" long and 98 grams. Age unknown.
I hope I can get him fattened up with the help of plenty of food and lots of love.

she actually put weight on pretty fast once i got rid of the parasites. her first fecal came back clean but she dropped more weight and the second one came back positive i think it was tape worms. everytime she has gone to the vet for her feet, she has added more weight. saharans weigh less than malis so i don't know what weight your guy should be but i am sure he will become fat really soon
