How do you find the Eastern milk compared to your Sinolan ? I would imagine a lot more skittish, secretive.

HerperHelmz May 07, 2005 09:13 PM

I have 1.2 Sinaloans, none of them are calm when being held, so I just don't hold them. The eastern milk will tolerate handling, won't musk, completely opposite of the sinaloans. And as you can tell from the pics, he'll take food right from my hand, only of my sinaloans will do that.

Thats interesting . I have read books that said that Easterns were some of the most nervous snakes around. While others here say Sinolans rather calm go figure.
Guess it depends on individual snake. I have read Easterns are some of the best escape artists out there though I know all snakes will escape. Since as a whole you like native snakes suprised you dont keep fox snake.
I know two people that keep them those are super super easy going snakes as adults. Both of them were aquired as babies .

lol, I actually have a fox snake on the way...

Eastern Milks are escape artists, the one I posted pics of, has gotten loose twice so far.

lol thats funny that you are getting one. They actually arent commonly kept at all infact wonder if even captive bred.
Tamest snakes I ever held are my friends fox snakes. like all snakes tad nervous as babies than puppy tame now as adults.

My friend bred a couple last year. Has some 04 babies, I think I'm giving him a pinkbelly sideneck turtle for one...

That eastern milk is pretty nice looking. What locale? How old? You said he is an adult, but he is awful small. Maybe our KY milks get bigger. Ill have to post a pic of my eastern milk. He is quite a bit bigger than yours, and still growing. We found one in the field a couple of weeks ago that probably went close to 36".
