I think its important that you do not hold your thoughts(guesses) so strongly. I often think something and find out quickly that is not right, I then change it quickly.

I do this in the field and with captives. I will think and plan of something, then when faced with the reality that its not right. I quickly adjust.

I think this may be a big difference with me and some others. I never had any idea, our thoughts are suppose to pan out all the time. I kinda thought they were very weak at best.

I mean our thoughts about what monitors are and do and think. I mean, we(all of us) have no idea whats going on in their brains. All we can do is guess.

Why I bring this up is important anytime we set up a cage, its only a guess that it will work. Also, cages only work for a certain time period. The reptiles, all of them with monitors being the most effected, grow very tired of the same old cage, day after day. When they do, I just move them to another cage. Kinda why I get sad at the thought that people call a cage "permanet". I don't care how nice the cage is, the monitors will get tired of it.

So yes, I will counterdict myself here too. What is so funny about that is, how come I do that and I have no problems getting generations of monitors of many species. Or no problems hatching eggs. Maybe its required that you cannot take yourself so seriously. Many here, as you can see, think its about right and wrong. I do not think that at all, its only about progress. FR
