Update on eggs... kind of sad : (

sunfox May 07, 2005 09:04 PM

I was in the process of rearranging the main tank for Isis's reintroduction when I made a discovery. Apparently, I had failed to remove some of the eggs during the initial excavation of her nest. To my great sadness, I found 9 more eggs, yellowed and dessicated, bringing the grand total to 17. I am hoping that these are infertile but if they weren't, I just might have lost another nine potential little lives.
I'll update you all on Isis's and Ra's reintroduction to each other as events occur.

I hope those of you who have eggs are doing better than I am.

oh that sucks, but hopefully all those other little lives will make it for you. if it makes you feel any better i am the queen of killing eggs. i lost every single collared lizard egg last year and i am pretty sure the four that started to hatch this week have died. so far i am 0/29 in the last two seasons

First, sorry about the found eggs. I'm now thinking that Roxy's 19 eggs, really isn't all that much. Speaking of that, laying is a "once a year" thing...right?

That's unfortuante for sure, but you won't make the mistake again. I was just thinking about that, though, as my ~160g Sudanese girl cranked out 15 full size eggs and yours looked to have a bit more "internal volume". Someone had a geyri that dropped 19 or so if I remember right.
Looks like more Sudans on the way this week and some macfadyeni over the next month. I couldn't tell with the geyris.
I even picked up a computer UPS to keep power on in case a breaker trips or we get flickers here.

Oh, poo. I'm sorry to hear about the lost eggs - that's so sad. I sure hope the rest of the little guys hatch out for you!!
