columbian boa

newguy89 May 08, 2005 01:45 AM

columbian boas look very cool when they are young, but as a person who does not have a boa, i have to ask, do they have "phases" and end up turning a different color. I am considering buying one, i allready have a ball python. And i have to ask if they make good pets and how their temperment is compared to a ball python. Thanx

Pretty much all bci and bcc get lighter and darker depending on temp, shed cycle and being gravid........Russ

Colombian boas do get darker as they mature. If color is important to you. I suggest buying from a breeder where you can see the parents. OR you can always buy an albino they of course stay light.
As pets a boa can make a wonderful pet. Its best to buy a young boa and grow it up and handle it on a regular basis. Good luck.
