Need help to ID and Care for Rescued Tortoise

Lyn May 08, 2005 10:12 AM

I was sent this photo by someone who's friend has temporarily aquired a Tortoise. I'm assuming it's a photo of the actual Tortoise and that he didn't just attach a photo he found online of a similar Tortoise to the one his friend is temporarily housing. I did email him back and ask but haven't heard back yet. He's looking for care info to give to his friend. I'd like a positive ID before giving him any links. I don't want to give him wrong information. I know what he thinks it is but I don't know if he's 100% sure or not so I thought I'd come to you guys to find out for sure. This is the photo I received... If you can tell what kind it is, I'd also appreciate any good links to care info for the species that I can pass along. I'm sorry I have no background at all on the Tortoise. Do not know age or sex or size or anything. All I have is the photo to go by.

The one in the photo looks like it is in good shape too. I'd guess it is 5 or 6 years old.

You should be able to find all the info you need here...
