how is she??
She is eating and being left alone. She is shy and eats 2 large adult mice everyother day. Next week I will bother her for pics. I am trying to figure out the green on her legs and belly. Did you keep her on newspaper or some kind of wood bedding?

I put the aluminum foil on the cages, but i am still tryin to convince my boss that sand sucks, but she is a stuborn lady, and she says she has been doing that way for years, so it doesnt need any changes. A hide and aluminum foil is the most i have gotten her to let me do, maybe if i mention that cypress is more economical and smells better she will give in. Would it be ok to put some seven dust on the mulch before putting the monitor on it, or is it harmful?? may be a stupid question..
Why would you even consider dusting the mulch?
Just dump the mulch in and your all set. Tell her the lizards will look shinier and healthier for quicker sale.
People will come in the store, see you have them on sand and will either walk away or buy one and put it on sand or reptile bark when they get it home. soon it will look like the pic above.

I was asking because Lowe's keeps their mulch outside, in bags of course, but still exposed. If something, anything, the tiniest thing went wrong she would blame me lol, would it be better if i just bought the sav myself?? and this time sort of let you coach me through the process starting in square one?? Just a thought.
If you bought it, you would be back to the same place you were 2 weeks ago. I buy loads and loads of cypress and other things when the gardening season is over for almost nothing and store them outside on a pallet next to my shed. I have never had a problem with any of it. The cypress mulch your lizard is on has been sitting in my yard for over 6 months.
If you want, buy a bag, fill a section of the cage with it, burying the half log and see what the critter does.
You can also fill a shoebox, cut a hole in it and watch the lizard squeeze inside.
