Forum seems kind of slow, so why not throw in some new pictures? My two year old, Xander ( SVL 9", STL 30" )

This one is my favorite:

You are right, the forum is slow so here is Tiny - 1 1/2 years old. About 28 inches in total. Haven't measured in awhile.

I do have scratches on my hands and wrists, they just don't show up on camera very well. Most of my scars are from bird bites, though. Thank you for your compliment

Do they get tame? What do you give them to eat? Can you touch them?

*sigh*

I really don't like talking about the piranha.

He actually passed away last week. I haven't figured out how to change my signature.

But to answer your question about whether or not they make good pets: No. They're like oscars, only dumber (as in, not very smart). They get quite large and are happiest in schools, which is very difficult unless you have a very large aquarium. They're not particularly nice to look at, and I think that, aside from serious aquarists, they only catch peoples' attention as pets because they're such a novelty and because they eat other fish.

So why do/did I have one?

My husband bought him before we got married... I sort of inherited him. When we moved to another state, I found out that keeping piranhas in our new state was illegal, so I tried to keep him on the downlow for awhile.

About two months ago his health started deteriorating. He was an old fish. He finally passed about a week ago.
