im expecting two dune geckos to arrive on tuesday, hopefully females as i already have a male and hope to be able to breed him maybe next year, but he's on this large grain red sand and has been since i got him, i wanted to change it to a different kind but decided not to when i saw him get it in his mouth and then spit it out which i thought he wouldnt be able to do with a smaller grain so i left him on the big stuff and just wash it since i dont know where to get more.
do you think he'd be ok if i changed him to different sand like washed playsand?
and i dont remember who but someone suggested i put them on calcium sand if i wet it then let it dry out and harden first so that they can dig tunnels in it, is that safe to do?
any suggestions or alterntive substrates that are good for dunes or pictures of setups?
also what size tank is needed for a trio of them? im thinking after their quarentined i'll move them in together in a 10-20 long
sorry another question does anyone have one thats afraid of crickets? i have to hand feed mine becuase he gets scared and runs away if they go towards him
