Do armadillo lizards go off feed

ginebig May 08, 2005 09:32 PM

I have a couple, not sure of sex, that I got last summer. They've been hammerin' mealworms daily till about four weeks ago. They also have grown some since I got them, so maybe they've become sexually mature. Not sure of their age. They don't seem to be loosing weight but have only eaten maybe 6 mealworms between em in the four week period. Thanks in advance.

Sometimes my other lizards slow up on the eating if they are going to shed, or if they are bored with the same food.

Try something else to get their attention. Maybe a flittery moth or two. have ya given them crickets? Sometimes a change will SPARK some interest!

But they DO NOT like house geckos, hahahaha (LOL)

LOL, not ta worry about the house geckos Think they're to big anyhow. I have tried crickets. They chewed on one of the lizards toes. NOT GOOD!!! Not warm enough up here to find moths yet, but the house flys are startin' to pop up. Maybe I'll try those. Got wax worms for the fat tails but I think they're to big for these guys. Guess I'll just have to start cruisin' the yard for little bugs. The neighbors get a kick out of me in the summer time. And about the shed, they've been through one and I never noticed a change in their eating habits. They did go from that pretty brown to a funky gray color though. OK, I've babled enough. Thanks Eve.
