XtremeXteriors May 09, 2005 01:14 PM

i have a female that i know is preggers she was givin to me so i could incubate the eggs but i have had her in my posession for over 2 months and she ovulated in my home and she just had her prelay shed
but i have 2 females that have been breeding like crazy but NO ovulation, is there anything i can do to help it along the other snake was kept in the same enviornment as my others and she ovulated while my other 2 havent

My larger female layed last year august 15 so is it possible her cycle might be off
my other female has not laid eggs to my knowledge but she was very adamant about breeding
my male is 500 grams and this is definitly his first year breeding if his sperm is not viable will a female still ovulate and possibly lay

..... I have had only one female lay out of "cycle". She gave me 5 good eggs in late July of last year and this week I got 5 perfect slugs...

I wouldnt sweat it. Just as long as your temps were on point since the start of the season all should go fine.

There is nothing you can do to "make" a female ovulate. Temps are not the only thing that makes a female to ovulate. Ive had females ovulate before I began to warm up.

I think that balls have their own internal clock. There are many people out there that get eggs every month of the year cause they dont have a set cooling period and others dont cool at all..
they breed the snakes all year long and cross their fingers.

Dont stress it. If they are going to give you eggs this season they will ovulate sooner or later...

As far as the small male..... if he bred them and his sperm is no good then you might get slugs...... I hope you dont get slugs.... I hate slugs..... I got 7 from two females this week... sucks...

Ok no more ranting.....

Good luck
Raul
