I got my beardie back in January. He just doesn't seem to be growing like he should. He was in a fairly large tank for awhile.. he's always had UVB and UVA as well as a basking spot. I mist him daily and he has been eating. However he's really only shed once I believe.

I then switched him into a smaller tank for now and he seems to be eating a lot more and seems to be getting fatter just no longer and still hasn't shed. He's very very active and likes to be held.. so I dont see what could be wrong. Like I said in the smaller tank he seems to be getting fatter but thats about all.

Any ideas??

It is pretty common for small beardies in large cages to not fair so well. They do, as you have seen, better in tanks that are more porportionate to them.

As far as the growing...its probable that he is growing and maybe you just aren't noticing? Have you been weighing him to see if he has gained weight at all? Some times they can be shedding and you wont even see it...

However, if he really isn't growing and you are concerned you should take a fecal sample to the vet to see if there are parasites...
