Is this setup ok?

dmg Jul 11, 2003 06:24 PM

Hello all, getting ready to purchase my Ball Python withen the next 2 weeks, and wanted to know if this setup looks like it will be ok.

Any recommendations before I order him? I am planning on changing the waterbowl, that was just a temporary thing so I could test start getting the humidity up a little.

Thanks for all your help!

Dave

That looks good. I think the basking area need to be little higher...like 90-91 degree; that's how mine are and mine is still at the basking spot since this morning.

Great set up. But I do suggest you looking into getting a water dish that wont tip over. Something flat on the bottom that way when he/she tries to drink it wont tip over on it.

Very nice setup! I would move the basking light closer to one end rather than the middle though so that you can create a thermal gradient of high to low.

I like how you made it all look natural, then used newspaper LOL. Where did you get that thermometer/hydrometer? I am in the market for a good one. Thanks and WONDERFUL setup by the way, but I do second the raising hot-side-temps and moving the heat lamp to one side. Good luck and welcome to the ADICTIVE world of Ball Pythons!

Actually picked that Thermometer/Hydrometer in the Garden Department of Lowe's. It's pretty nice has a 10 ft long cord to measure the temperature in one place, and the unit itself also measures the temperature, so you can measure both ends of your aquarium with one unit. Plus, it was only $20.00!
