how much room does a corn need to be happy?

i have a one year old corn that is 40 inches long.She is currently in a 55gal. will this be adequate for its whole life?

A good rule of thumb is that the tank should be at least half the length of the snake. A 55 g is a really nice lifetime home for even a good-sized corn. Duffy

I concur with Duffy. Most sources of info will recommend a 30 gallon minimum for an adult snake. Of course, the larger the better, so a 55 gallon will be quite nice. I house my big 5-foot monster corn in a tank that size and he's perfectly happy and healthy.
