Heres a bummer...!

I've found zonatas at this rock pile since '94 or '95.About 3 weeks ago,I went there to find this, complete rock destruction due to tree removal becasue of Bark Beetle infestation.I was talking to a friend I went to high school with, and hes working for a tree removal company now,and did so all last summer. He told me he saw atleast 10 of those red black and white snakes during taking trees down.I was bummed though,he told me that almost everytime they saw one someone on the crew would kill it.It sucks.Atleast 3 other spots I'v gone to in the last couple weeks are the same way, just big pieces of rocks torn apart from big trees falling on them.Atleast its not from herpers, that would make me even more mad,as most of the spots I go to around me arent frequented by herpers at all,oh well.Time will help, plus I put alot of rocks back as best I could, and tried to make some new piles out of the rocks that were just laying around broken in pieces.

Send a copy of this account to CA Fish and Game. Yet another example that herpers are not a threat to the species, but development/habitat destruction are. What's amazing about this is that I'm sure the Dept. of Forestry was involved in this. State workers intentionally killing zonata while they are trying to save the trees.....amazing!
