Snails as Food

Well it was a typical rainy day out here is Washington State, I had seen the post on what people feed a while ago so I figured I would go out and get some snails and try and feed them to my geckos. I live in the woods and have tons of snails around my house so they were easy to find. My breeder female practically went crazy. She ate two nice big ones right away plus another one a little later. I encourage people to try and feed these to their Uroplatus. They seem to really like them, at least the females.

Not sure about the Washington State area, but I know in Jason's area snails are a pest and ppl commonly poison them with snail bait... I have collected snails near Jason's and I did my research to ensure that I was not feeding my geckos poisoned snails... Turns out that the pestacide is a fast acting nueral degenerator... Which means that if the snails eat it, they will likely die that same night... And because I was collecting them during the day in their dormant state I figured I was in the clear... To be sure I housed the snails for at least a week before feeding them off... That's about it...
