Rotating eggs

jmartin104 May 10, 2005 05:49 AM

Has anyone rotated eggs that survived?

I only had one egg that was rotated about 12 hours after laying. It survived and was the first to hatch.

Has anyone rotated eggs that did not survive? And was that the only feasible cause of their death?

but I have had pythons eggs roll of the others while removing the female and there were no ill effects.

I would be more concerned in the later stages of incubation. I am sure that if you turn an egg a couple of days prior to the baby hatching it will perish...

I would just not mess with them once they are set up and cooking.... why risk it?

Just my .02 cents

Once in the incubator, they are not disturbed. But I theorize that there is a safe window in which eggs can be safely rotated. I have rotated eggs as far out as 12 hours after laying without issue. Although, I'm not in the practice of doing so.
