if it is like a bedding no probally not. Watch what you read on packages the seller can put anything on there. I had a corn snake on some bark product and it about killed it. Some barks are made from pine which is a no no as well as cedar because of the oils secreted by them. Paper towel,repticarpet,felt,slate tile all are good. I used calci-sand myself with adult leos when it first came out and never had any problems except the fact that after about a month it stank and is hard to keep clean, also costly to replace.
