I'm pretty sure they won't send you home with a leo in your pocket 
If you want to bring your own you probably can, I've taken leos on short trips and simply placed them in small rubbermaid containers lined with paper towels.
As long as you're careful he/she will be set up at your house and chowing down in no time.

You dont need to bring your own, but I would. Just get a little container and put some paper towels on the bottom. later
