JCP question

skyclad May 10, 2005 08:39 PM

I have a JCP not even a year old and about 2 1/2 feet long. I had him around my neck and he was squeezing tight (not enough to choke me lol). As he was squeezing he was drooling down my shirt alot from his mouth. Has anyone ever experienced their JCP drooling? He has never drooled from the mouth before that I know of, but he was squeezing really tight. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Usually fluid coming from the mouth and nose is caused by an infection in the respiratory system. It's mucous trying to fight the infection. Maybe other more qualified people will comment but that is all I can think of. I would get him to a vet ASAP, keep his temps up real high, as well as the humidity, and watch him carefully. Also, snakes around the neck have been known to cause rediculous debates on this forum, just a heads up. Good luck, Eric-

Thank you. I'll up his temps, and keep an eye on him. He does make these short "pffft" sounds every minute or so, is that normal? Other than that he's great and seems healthy.

how old is your JCP because it seems small if it is almost a year old because mine are like 3'6inches and like 4' at 7-8 months

Mine is a little over 3 ft right now and I go him last September. When I got him he was only a few weeks old. He's eating fine, like a machine.
